The Mimosa United Church is a rural church which is a busy hub of activity during the week.
Although the Sunday morning service has a small but active congregation of about 30, the church is often bursting at the seams during the week hosting 4-H Club meetings, music evenings and dinner lectures.
The church also holds social art evenings once a month for those interested in a leisurely social experience.
The social art evenings begin again on Sept. 12 and continue into the fall and winter once a month from 7 to 9pm.
Participants will be introduced to water colour techniques over coffee and tea and wil be encouraged to chat and get creative in a small community setting, organizers states.
Participants must register at least three days in advance to be sure there will be adequate supplies.
Projects are suitable for ages 9 to 90.
No previous art or drawing experience is necessary.
All levels of expertise or lack of expertise are welcome.
Social art is more about the experience than the outcome.
Social art evenings cost $20 per session, which includes paints, brushes, paper and light refreshments.
The instructor’s time is donated and all proceeds go to mission and service.
